Intel Corporation and VMware to Develop Mobile Security Solutions

VMware Inc and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) will be extending their combined efforts in developing new solutions for mobile security. According to an official press release, both companies would introduce new products that would be powered by VMware’s AirWatch enterprise mobility management platform.

The aim of the joint initiative is to augment mobile security among enterprises in order to counter the increasingly complex nature of security threats. The incorporation of AirWatch would allow consumers to curtail their operational costs and increase the overall efficiency of their security systems.

"In the age of mobility, our customers face increasing risk vectors that require new ways to address security concerns. The VMware and Intel Security partnership is an integral part of our mobile security strategy and is an important step toward improving our mutual customers' threat defense lifecycle and providing better data protection, regardless of where that data resides or travels."

As part of the partnership between the two companies, VMware Inc (NYSE:VMW) becomes a member of the Intel Security Innovation Alliance. The Alliance is a technology partner initiative through which integration is facilitated for products developed by Intel Security. It also accelerates Intel Security’s entire process of developing interoperable solutions.

VMware and Intel Security’s joint solutions would also include advanced mobility data through McAfee Data Exchange Layer, which is a crucial aspect of Intel Security’s open connected security system, as it distributes local security intelligence across every product developed by the company.
